1. Research on how to make a custom layout.....its quite simple
2. Include a call to a static block (wherever you want the banner to appear) in that new layout...
3. Put the simple banners code into your new static block...
4. Set hompage cms page's layout to your new created layout...
5. Jump up and down with joy!!

Error:
Following the pdf guide, i installed the Bannners 1.4 in Magento 1.5.1.0.
Backend working fine, but in frontend, the Banner can't show up these contenu, just a loading icon.

Answer:
Make sure that you have given recursive 777 rights to the banner folder in media. If problem still exists then provide us with the admin panel access as well as FTP details. We will solve it for you.

Solution:
Problem solved, it works fine after i change the files owner to "apache".

We were using the simple banner in our Magento 1.4.2 installation without issue. When we upgraded to 1.5.1, the extension didn't install correctly. FME's Support team jumped in and corrected the issue quickly - We couldn't be more satisfied with their service for a free extension.

open php editor and change
change this Mage_Adminhtml_Controller_action to Mage_Adminhtml_Controller_Action

and solved in minute

Hi
This is nice banner and easy implementation.But I have suffering a problem. I have used magento v 1.5.0.1. I implement banner. It is running fine

<block type="banners/banners" name="banners" template="banners/banners.phtml" />
</reference>
</default>
but show every page. But i want to show only home page
If i used
<banners_index_index>
<reference name="content">
<block type="banners/banners" name="banners" template="banners/banners.phtml" />
</reference>
</banners_index_index>
This code after that not showing any page
Please give me suggestion what i will do
