With FAQs + Product Questions 2.0 you have the flexibility of defining which FAQ topic should appear in which order on FAQ main page. On the other hand while creating FAQs you can choose the style and appearance of how they should appear on frontend like for example you can use Accordion style. FAQs can be made as public or private to protect privacy. Another great feature that this version comes with is the option for customers to rate, like or unlike, reply to any FAQ instantly. You can configure email alerts such as whenever any question is posted by the customers or in case admin replies to any question than automatically generated email alerts will be send to admin and customer accordingly. ASK A QUESTION

  • Ask a Question link placed just besides the product on product detail page. Just a simple click on it takes customers to Product Questions below the product

Overview:

FrontEnd

FAQ main page will list the topics and FAQs under them very elegantly which have been configured from the backend to display here. You have the options to present these FAQs in your desired order on main page. Each question comes up with a rating option so that customers can provide their feedback accordingly. If you have setup max limit of FAQs under any topic then read more link will appear in that topic if enabled from the backend. FAQ and search block has been provided on right column for easy navigation and searching of FAQ topics and FAQ.

Another place where you can host FAQs is the product page. You can configure FAQs to appear under a product or in a new page. A link “Ask a question” is placed just besides the product by clicking on it will take customers to FAQ sections where they can rate any FAQ, reply or post an inquiry instantly. Customers can click “Ask a question” button to post an inquiry in a form which can be configured to open in a popup or slide. A beautiful thread is maintained when customers reply to any comment or FAQ. You can configure if admin approval is necessary or not in order to publish these comments.

Backend

MANAGE FAQ TOPICS

FAQs Topics Grid:

  • Shows the FAQ Id, Title, Identifier, Show on main page, Order, Status and a link to Edit the FAQs
  • Change Status or delete by selecting from the grid and selecting the Action

Export to CSV:

  • You can Export the FAQs to a CSV or XML file
  • Select the type of file you would like to Save As and Click on Export

Add FAQs Topics:

  • Enter desired title
  • SEO URL identifier
  • Select if you would like to show this topic on main page
  • Enter desired position in which the topic should appear on main page. From the configuration “sort by order” should be selected in general settings.

  • Status

MANAGE FAQS

FAQs Grid:

  • Shows the FAQs Id, Title, Question Type, Show on main page, Visibility, Open in accordion, order/position, topic, Status and a link to Edit the FAQs
  • Change Status or delete by selecting from the grid and selecting the Action

Export to CSV:

  • You can Export the FAQs to a CSV or XML file
  • Select the type of file you would like to Save As and Click on Export

Add FAQs Topics:

  • Select the type of question such as general or product related
  • Enter desired question
  • Enable or disable this FAQ accordingly
  • Select under which topic this question should appear
  • Select “Yes” from the drop down to enable this question on FAQ main page
  • In case the visibility is private, this question will be visible once the user is logged in.
  • Enter position of this FAQ
  • Select “Yes” from the drop down if this question should be opened in Accordion
  • Answer (WYSIWYG)
  • Check this option to notify customers by automatically generated email about the posted answer

Apply to Products:

  • The FAQs that have been added from the Add FAQs page can be applied to products by selecting them from the list given on the Apply to Products Page. Those FAQs will be displayed on the Product Detail Page in order to categorize the FAQs.

View Replies:

  • Any reply made to this question by users will be visible here. You can manually enable or disable them

CONFIGURATIONS

General FAQ Settings:

  • Enter your desired title for FAQ main page
  • Enter SEF URL identifier
  • Enter Meta Keywords and Description
  • Select type of topics displayed on main page, either selected or all
  • Enter maximum limit of questions that are allowed to appear under a topic
  • In case questions exceed max limit then you can enable read more link from here
  • Select sorting method such as by order, rating or latest
  • Enable or disable Accordion style
  • Enable or disable like/unlike functionality

Product Questions:

  • Enable FAQs under products
  • Enter your desired title
  • Enable or disable rating for these FAQs
  • Select the type of customers who are allowed to rate any FAQ such as registered, none or any one
  • Enable or disable Accordion style
  • Select sorting method such as by order, rating or latest
  • You can choose these FAQs to appear under a product or on a new page
  • Enable or disable like/unlike functionality
  • Enable or disable reply/comments functionality
  • Select if admin is to approve each reply made by users or if approval is not required

Product Ask Questions:

  • Allow your customers to ask any question they want to on product page by enabling this feature
  • Choose the appearance of inquiry form whether it should be opened in a popup or new page

General FAQs Rating:

  • Allow your customer to rate any FAQ by enabling this feature
  • Select the type of customers who are allowed to rate any FAQ such as registered, none or any one

FAQ Block Settings:

  • Enable FAQ block which allows easy navigation among FAQ topics for your customers
  • Enable FAQ search feature
  • Enter max limit of topics that will be listed in a block

FAQ Themes:

  • Select your desired theme from five different options

Email Options:

  • Select the email sender such as Customer Service, Sales Representative etc.
  • Select Yes from the drop down to notify admin about any question posted
  • Enter email address of the admin who will receive notifications
  • Enter desired title of the email
  • Select predefined template for email
  • You can enable notification to clients if answer is posted by admin against their question
  • Enter title for subject of email
  • Select predefined template for email

Search Engine Optimization:

  • Set the URL suffix (e.g. “.html”)

Like this extension, it does what it says and works well. When a customer leaves a question the site emails me, and when I leave an answer it emails the customer.
I can tie the answers to products, or put them into topics on the FAQ page.
Customer support has been very good. We had a few small changes made and the company was ALWAYS quick to respond and very accurate with their changes.
Highly recommend their work.
