Renault Saudi Arabia had a well-established online presence — but it was purely informational. Visitors could browse car models and learn about services, yet had no way to actually take the next step: booking a vehicle, scheduling a test drive, or purchasing online.
FME Extensions was brought in to transform this static WordPress site into a fully transactional Magento 2 storefront, giving Saudi customers the seamless digital buying experience the brand deserved.
Before: A WordPress CMS site with static car listings, no purchase flow, no booking system, and no customer account features. Visitors could only read — not act.
After: A Magento 2 powered ecommerce store at buy.renault.sa enabling full car purchases, service bookings, installment payments, test drive scheduling, dealer discovery, and verified accounts.
The Challenge
A Brand Held Back by Its Platform
Renault Saudi Arabia had brand equity, a loyal customer base, and a growing market — but its digital channel was leaving revenue on the table. The WordPress setup was never built for commerce, and the gaps were significant.

Our Solution

We migrated the site to Magento 2 and built a complete ecommerce ecosystem using FME's own suite of extensions — each chosen to solve a specific gap in Renault Saudi Arabia's customer journey.
Deployed on both the test drive booking form and a dedicated Showrooms page, letting customers instantly find the nearest Renault dealer or showroom before scheduling a visit.
Enabled installment-based vehicle purchasing — a critical feature in the automotive sector — allowing customers to split the cost of a car purchase into manageable scheduled payments.
Powered the entire FAQ page with a structured, searchable knowledge base — reducing support load while giving customers quick answers about models, services, and purchase processes.
A fully customized contact page enabling customers to reach the right department directly — whether for sales inquiries, service requests, or general support.
Integrated into the account registration flow to verify customer mobile numbers via one-time passcode — building trust, reducing fraud, and improving data quality from day one.
Gave shoppers an intuitive side-by-side comparison of Renault models — comparing engine specs, features, and pricing — to drive confident, informed purchase decisions.
Car & Service Booking
Built a complete ecommerce booking flow for both vehicle purchases and after-sales service bookings — the store's core commercial capability, built from scratch on Magento 2.
Performance Optimization
Comprehensive frontend and backend performance tuning — including caching, image optimization, and code profiling — ensuring fast load times for Saudi Arabia's demanding users.
Customer Care Portal
A dedicated customer care section was built within the Magento store, enabling account management, booking history, service scheduling, and direct support access in one place.
Migration Process
How We Built It
01. Discovery & Architecture Planning
We audited the existing WordPress site — cataloguing all car models, service listings, and content — and designed the Magento 2 store architecture to support both the existing content and new ecommerce functionality.
02. Magento 2 Store Setup & Migration
All existing vehicle models, service pages, and content were migrated cleanly into Magento 2 product and CMS structures. Category hierarchies were established for passenger and commercial vehicles.
03. Ecommerce & Booking Flow Development
The core car booking and service reservation flows were developed — customizing Magento's checkout experience for the automotive context, including model selection, configuration, and booking confirmation.
04. FME Extension Integration
Each FME extension was configured and integrated into its relevant section — Store Locator on the test drive form and dealer page, Partial Payment in checkout, OTP in registration, Smart Compare on listing pages, FAQs and Contact Form in their dedicated pages.
05. Performance Tuning & QA
The store was thoroughly tested across devices and connection speeds. Performance optimizations including full-page cache configuration, JS/CSS bundling, image compression, and server-side tuning were applied before launch.
